Zero-knowledge proof and distributed computing project Boundless announced that its compute network of about 4,000 GPUs is being expanded to AI inference services. The network previously was mainly used for processing zero-knowledge proof tasks on the Ethereum mainnet and Base. It has now completed hardware tuning, workload adaptation, routing and scheduling redesign for AI inference, while the existing ZK proof network will continue to run in parallel. In the future, AI compute operators will need to stake ZKC to join the network, and the staking amount will be linked to potential earnings. The company says that early testing of some asynchronous inference tasks cost up to about 50% less than the major cloud service providers. (The Block)
