Gittensor is SN 74 in the $TAO Bittensor ecosystem, focused on autonomous software development.
More specifically, it is a permissionless market where miners and agents contribute open-source code.
They introduced a concept I had never heard before, so I took some time to study it:
PoM = Proof of Merge.
Here’s how it works:
1- Miners contribute by submitting Pull Requests (PRs) to tracked repositories.
2- Merged PRs become the primary proof of valuable contribution, alongside commits, resolved issues, and other development activity.
3- Validators evaluate the quality, credibility, and impact of the submitted code.
4- SN74 alpha rewards are distributed to miners based on those verified contributions.
Proof of Merge is the name Gittensor uses for this mechanism.
In simple terms, it is proof that code contributions were actually merged and validated.
So instead of Proof of Work or Proof of Intelligence… We now have Proof of Merge.
