The only thing that truly matters for $TAO is the quality of its subnets.

I had the pleasure of sitting down with @markjeffrey from @stillcorecap yesterday to discuss Bittensor, subnet investing, institutional capital, and why he believes we're still in the very early innings of the bittensor:native ecosystem. Here's what Mark shared 👇 • 00:00–08:00 — Why Mark believes Bittensor is the biggest crypto innovation since Ethereum. • 08:00–17:00 — How Stillcore evaluates subnets, including founders, product quality, revenue potential, and long-term business viability. • 17:00–24:00 — Institutional adoption, capital inflows, and what large investors are looking for before allocating to Bittensor. • 24:00–32:00 — What a $1B+ subnet looks like and why a breakout success story could accelerate the entire ecosystem. • 32:00–40:00 — How Bittensor's incentive model enables subnets to build products faster, cheaper, and more efficiently than traditional startups. • 40:00–48:00 — AI commoditization, open-source models, and why specialized AI products may outperform general-purpose models over time. • 48:00–55:00 — Root Reborn, tokenomics improvements, and how recent upgrades are strengthening subnet economics. • 55:00–End — @proofoftalk reflections and why Mark left Paris even more bullish on the future of Bittensor.

One of the biggest demand sources for Bittensor will be AI agents, and one of the biggest demand sources for Minotaur will likely be agents executing DeFi. The reason is simple. Agents should not be exposed directly to the full complexity of DeFi. Smart contracts, liquidity pools, bridges, MEV, slippage, stale pricing, and malicious routes are already difficult for humans to manage. For agents, that complexity becomes execution risk. With agent tooling, Minotaur gives agents a cleaner interface. Instead of planning raw transactions, an agent can express the desired outcome through the Minotaur API/SDK, discover deployed Apps, choose the right App Intent, and submit an Order to Minotaur. Your trading agent, wallet agent, or AI agent connected through tools could use Minotaur to execute DeFi strategies, or even deploy a user-specific App when the desired outcome needs custom logic. As Minotaur evolves, this will become prompt-to-execution, where users describe a goal in natural language and the system tr

Been seeing some say $TAO has no buying pressure. Fair enough. Could we go lower absolutely, yes. Look at the chart today and I get why people say it. Price is soft. Market is heavy. $TAO is high beta. Nobody needs to pretend the candle looks good. But I think people are staring at the wrong side of the equation. They are asking where the buyers are. They are not asking how much selling the network just removed. That is the part that will make the big difference especially when the buying comes back. Post-halving, Bittensor emits roughly 3,600 $TAO a day. That number did not disappear. What changed is where that emission goes. Before, emissions were basically across 128 subnets, based percentages each got and market flow. Some not all of those subnets were not producing anything meaningful. No real product. No real miners. No real demand. So what happens when a dead subnet gets emission? It prints alpha with no natural buyers. Then it gets sold. That is not productive dilution. That is the network paying for sell pressure. Suppressing the price. That is the missing part. The problem was not only No Buying Pressure. The problem was too much Subsidized Selling. Now the network is cutting that.... 57 subnets that had emissions cut to zero. A Weekly cleanup going forward. Produce or die. That sounds harsh because it is. But this is what a real incentive machine has to do, to survive. Stop paying things that do not produce. Stop feeding dead weight. Stop letting fake value drain the system. The total emission budget may stay the same, but the quality of that destination is what changes. Same supply. A Better placement. Emission starts flowing toward subnets that actually produce, actually have buyers, and actually return value back to $TAO. That is very different. Then add the new price-based mechanism. The chain is moving toward rewarding subnets based on value returned to root and price strength over time. A smoothed signal. It forces a different kind of behaviour. If a subnet wants to survive, it needs demand. And the cleanest demand is real revenue turning into buybacks, burns, liquidity, and support. @lium_io recently gave us that example. 2,500 $TAO buyback and burn from real GPU revenue. Real Revenue. Subnets can't just farm the network forever. They have to become buyers for survival. That is the part I think people are missing. Bittensor is not waiting for outside demand to magically just show up. It is rebuilding the internal market so demand has to be earned. Dead alpha stops printing. Real subnets get more support. Fake mining gets starved. Builders with revenue get stronger. The sell side gets thinner. The buy side gets more structural. This does not mean price goes up tomorrow. No. No. It does not mean there is no pain. There will always be pain. Some teams will not make it. That is the cost of cleaning the machine. But think about the bigger picture. This subnet cut stopped emissions from feeding dead weight. The new emissions update points rewards closer to price, root value, and real output. Root Reborn stops root yield from leaking out and compound it back into the subnet economy. Cut the waste. Starve the fake output. Reward the real builders. Turn sellers into buyers. Keep more value inside this machine. That is the point. This is not just about price. It is Bittensor rebuilding its own supply and demand loop at the protocol level, capped at 21 million. It's a finely tuned long game. $TAO
