There's a lot going on with ETH at the institutional level. At the very least, you should be paying attention. ETH liquidity on exchanges is at its lowest level, with the price at the bottom of its cyclical oversold level. All the ingredients are there…

➥ L2 vs L1: Where Is Ethereum’s Value Actually Flowing? As an $ETH holder, I don’t see L2 growth as value leaving Ethereum. I see it as Ethereum expanding beyond the limits of a single chain. Today, retail trading, payments, gaming and social activity are increasingly moving to L2s because fees are lower and transactions are faster. But the capital, security and settlement underneath that activity still remain heavily anchored to Ethereum. Ethereum L1 currently secures: – $38.8B in DeFi TVL – $157B in stablecoins – $16.3B in tokenized RWAs – Nearly $159B of stablecoins when measured by https://t.co/q7s2WOwhIS @Ethereum alone holds roughly half of all distributed onchain RWA value, far ahead of any other network. This is the distinction many people miss: L2s capture user activity, while Ethereum captures the most valuable assets and provides the final settlement layer. @base and @arbitrum may generate activity at the execution layer, but they also extend Ethereum distribution to users who would never transact directly on L1. Without L2s, much of this activity would likely move to competing chains rather than remain on Ethereum. The current weakness is not ecosystem growth, but how efficiently that growth accrues value back to $ETH. Blob fees remain low, L1 burn has weakened and L2 sequencers currently retain much of the direct transaction revenue. However, I view this as a value‑accrual problem that Ethereum can improve, not evidence that its scaling strategy has failed. Glamsterdam could become the next major turning point by increasing L1 capacity, enabling parallel execution and improving the protocol’s MEV architecture. If L1 becomes cheaper while L2 demand continues growing, Ethereum could capture both sides of the market: High‑frequency activity on L2s, while high‑value capital and settlement remain on L1. That is why I continue to hold $ETH. Ethereum is no longer just one blockchain competing for transaction count; it is becoming the settlement and capital layer for an entire network of chains. The activity may happen on L2, but the most valuable part of the system still flows back to Ethereum.

People keep saying $ETH value capture is broken because L2s ate mainnet fees, but I don't think that's totally true. It just moved to the layer that secures the whole rollup economy and becomes the collateral underneath it. Okay, I agree the numbers make the bear case pretty easy to see tho. – $207B mcap, 39.23M ETH staked, 898K validators, staking ratio ~32.5%. – 20K ETH burned annually, 0.82% yearly inflation. – ~$100K daily chain revenue while apps are making $1.1M So the ultrasound money thesis is kinda cooked. Dencun made blob data cheap on purpose, Pectra pushed the architecture even further, and rollups now keep most of the immediate cash flow. L2s now only send around 0.3% of their chain fees back to L1. Ethereum provides the trust anchor, rollups rent it cheaply, apps and sequencers monetize the user flow, and ETH holders don't see much direct burn. But I think the market is confusing weak fee capture with a weak strategic position. Ethereum is now selling settlement, DA, neutrality, cens

Ethereum L1 expands its ecosystem through L2, still anchoring high‑value assets and providing settlement, with a solid long‑term strategic position.

Another day, another massive ETH buy from Bitmine. 🚀 #Bitmine Keeps Grabbing $ETH . Bitmine has added another 35,138 ETH worth approximately $58.65M over the past 7 hours, acquiring the coins through BitGo and Kraken and moving them into two newly created wallets. The latest purchases continue Bitmine's aggressive #ETH accumulation strategy, with the company showing no signs of slowing down despite the recent market volatility. a16z Adding More ETH. A wallet linked to a16z withdrew 25,560 $ETH worth around $42.62M from Binance about 14 hours ago. Big exchange withdrawals like this usually get attention, especially when they're tied to major crypto investors. While it's impossible to know the exact intention behind the transfer, moving that much #ETH off an exchange is often seen as a sign of accumulation rather than a plan to sell. With ETH still under pressure, it looks like a16z may be quietly increasing its exposure. Address: 0xb5E4d21240e9356caFc3a1261d10383f62DFc24e

This is crisis for EF. First thing companies do for crisis management is cutting down costs. EF is reducing its annual budget by roughly 40% and cutting about 54 employees. Explained as a shift from a spending organization to a long-term endowment model. Expecting more ETH ETF outflows :(

    vitalik.eth Founder Dev C

This year, the EF is decreasing its budget by roughly 40%, which entails some difficult decisions. The goal of the decreases was set out in the Treasury Management Policy last year: the EF is transitioning into being a long-term-oriented endowment-based organization, shifting from its pre-2026 average of spending ~15% of its remaining funds each year, towards a post-2030 target of ~5% per year. Often, when an organization goes through something like this, people try to pretend that nothing of great value was lost, that it is an efficiency increase, that the only people cut are unproductive dead weight, and everyone else stopped partying, studied the blade, entered cracked S-tier beast mode, and this is sufficient to make up for the downside. I will not try to pretend this. I respect my EF colleagues far too much to ... (truncated?) They have brought a bri
