ethereum:0xf280b16ef293d8e534e370794ef26bf312694126 is up more than 130% this week, but the pump has a stranger and more emotional story than most meme coins.

It starts with Liv Perrotto, a young cancer patient and space fan who designed a Shiba Inu plush called Asteroid for SpaceX’s Polaris Dawn mission.

The toy flew to space as the mission’s zero-gravity indicator. Liv said it was inspired by Elon Musk’s Shiba, Floki, and wanted it to make space feel closer for other kids.

Before she died, Liv reportedly left Musk a final question: could Asteroid become SpaceX’s mascot?

Months later, SpaceX listed the Asteroid plush on its store.

Crypto traders immediately found the unofficial ASTEROID token.

The parody meme coin briefly added over $50M in market value.

SpaceX is tied to the plush, not the token. But as always in crypto, a powerful story can move faster than fundamentals.
