Why Africa? And why would $IOTA focus on it with ADAPT? The easy answer is: young population. But the real point is deeper. A young continent means the next wave of workers, founders, farmers, traders and consumers is still entering the economy. Many of them will grow up mobile-first. They won’t need to "move from paper to digital" the same way older systems did. For them, digital identity, mobile payments, online trade documents and verified data can become the normal way of doing business. That’s the opportunity. Africa has ~2.5B people expected by 2050. Its working-age population is set to grow massively. Mobile already adds hundreds of billions to the economy. But trade infrastructure is still catching up. That’s where ADAPT becomes interesting. If Africa’s next generation of businesses is going to trade across borders, they need trust. Who are you? Where did the goods come from? Is the document real? Can payment and data move across systems? This is the layer IOTA is trying to help build with ADAPT. A digital trade layer for a continent where the future economy is still being formed.

One of the world's largest development banks (IDB) just sat down with Tony Blair They discussed the future of government modernization. In a IDB Invest blog about smart mining in Latin America this stood out: Blockchain and Digital Traceability. areas where $IOTA has been building for years through initiatives like TWIN (co-founded by Tony blair Institute) IDB Invest even points to Codelco in Chile. Using MineHub’s Waybridge platform to bring traceability, transparency and auditability to its refined copper business. So the region is not only rich in minerals. It is already moving toward digital proof for mineral supply chains. Now compare that to @salusplatform. Salus is a digital trade finance platform for critical minerals operating on IOTA. Its focus is stablecoin settlement, digital warehouse receipts, product origin data and blockchain-monitored mineral journeys. And here’s the Latin America connection: According to S&P Global, Salus has had discussions in Chile, Colombia and Peru. That’s the interesting overlap. IDB Invest describes the regional problem: Latin America needs transparent, trusted and investable critical minerals supply chains. Salus shows one possible IOTA-based answer: Make minerals easier to finance by proving origin, title, movement and trust digitally. This doesn't mean IDB is using IOTA but we can see partners overlapping
