Lumia has been rebuilding from Orion Protocol’s 2023 reentrancy exploit into a focused RWA liquidity infrastructure layer since its February 2024 rebrand:
- Lumia Chain is a zkEVM Validium built on PolygonCDK with AvailDA for data availability, Polygon AggLayer for cross chain interoperability, EigenLayer AVS for restaked security and decentralised sequencers and zkProvers with Lumia Stream as the native liquidity network solving the capital fragmentation problem for tokenized RWA trading . Avail integration (June 2025) enables cross chain RWA transfers via Avail Nexus and Lumia Hub issuance.
- LUMIA Power (LUMIAp) replaced the old veORN staking model with EcoDrop governance where stakers receive airdrops from ecosystem projects rather than inflationary token emissions, eliminating the sell pressure that plagued Orion’s tokenomics. A zkML powered AI Yield Engine for automated RWA yield optimization was on the Q4 2025 roadmap with a Chain Abstraction Layer for simplified cross chain UX targeting early 2026.
- The predecessor Orion Protocol suffered a $3M reentrancy exploit across Ethereum and BSC in February 2023, a material security event that preceded the rebrand.
