Robinhood Chain mainnet launch, HOOD rises 8%, is Base the strongest competitor? 🤔

Last night the US AI tech sector retreated, while crypto-related stocks rallied collectively; Coinbase (COIN) rose 9.15% intraday, Robinhood (HOOD) rose 8.41%.

Robinhood announced in the early hours local time that Robinhood Chain officially launched on mainnet. This chain is built on Arbitrum, positioned as an Ethereum Layer 2, with a core focus on RWA—stocks, ETFs, private assets can be tokenized and traded on-chain, supporting 24/7 operation.

Uniswap, Morpho, LayerZero, Chainlink, Arcus and others have joined the ecosystem.

However, competitive pressure is also evident: Base, operating in the same lane, is backed by Coinbase, its ecosystem is already quite mature, and the developer base is solid.

Whether Robinhood Chain can stake its claim with the differentiated RWA angle remains to be proven over time.
