For miners and pools, the Toccata guide has a specific warning.

After activation, Toccata introduces v1 transactions with new fields that need to be preserved from block template to block submission.

If pool or stratum software drops those fields, submitted blocks can be invalid after activation.

That is the practical point.

It touches mining infrastructure.
